I haven't made it to that one yet, actually. I have it, but I don't expect much.

My periodic DVD update: Tourneur's duo of Nick Carter, Master Detective films are now available via Warner Archive. This stuff is pretty bland, for fans only.

Finally got sick of waiting and really wanted to give Anne of the Indies another viewing, so I went ahead and rented the stream that is available on Amazon (through my PS3).  I am happy to report that the print used is just fine and subtitles were available with a number of font/color options.  My opinion of the film is unchanged, and I do think it's among Tourneur's top tier works.  For a legal way to see the film, I can highly recommend this route.

Arrow announced via Twitter that Comedy of Terrors on Blu in the coming months. I guess that's cool, even though there are about twenty other Tourneur films I'd rather see first.

What ever happened toTwilight Time releasing Anne of the Indies, that one and Great Day in theMorning are both major Tourneur films without even a DVD release.

Great Day in the Morning is on Warner Archive Instant, though I've not seen it myself

If you have the service, I highly recommend thatfilm. It's very dark (thematically and cinematographically) and moody and seems right down your alley, Clyde.

Reading back on my review of the film I stand by it, though I clearly wrote it before I'd seen the brilliant Nightfall , because that is undoubtedly Tourneur's most violent film.

I'd put money on the print being identical to the TCM screenings because when I asked Warner Archive about it they claimed that the film needed a restoration before it was suitable with no immediate plans.

Has anyone else bit the bullet on his two Fox films? Way of a Gaucho is available in a good looking MOD DVD and Anne of the Indies is up as a digital rental or purchase on Amazon (I did it through my PS3). Both films are pretty great, in my opinion, and undeniably strange.

Tourneur's Blu debut is Out of the Past from Warner Archive! Now we're talking!

I'm glad it is finally out, but isn't that a popular enough film it could/should get a regular BD release? Checked Amazon but not there.  So far it does not have a release date on other sites or up at the wbshop (now seeing all the new different archive films :D.)

I'd think so, but frankly I'll take what I can get. Especially from Warner.

I need to find a region free Blu player for the Arrow releases though.

Does anyone have Amazon Prime? A great number of the MOD-only Tourneurs that I've raved about in this thread - including Wichita, Way of a Gaucho, and Canyon Passage - are available to stream free for Prime members.

Has anyone noticed any other MOD-exclusives on there?
